It's tough. You just have to keep doing it. Keep following up with the firm until they give you a decision. Do a follow-up every week if you can unless they tell you otherwise.

I think the best way to go about cold-callin...Gets cut off mid thought and remembers there is a search function with posts that detail people's experiences and advice on cold-calling.....

I did it for an internship, my advice is each evening create a list of firms you want to call, use Excel, have a column for firm name, one for number, date called and notes. You will probably get the door slammed in your face most times.
