Corp Dev manager interview prep

I've done 2 zoom interviews and a case study for a corp dev manager role and now they're flying me out to meet the team for a superday of interviews. I'm meeting with the EVP of strategy and corp dev, SVP of corp dev, directors in corp dev and strategy, and managers and associates. (I'm a PE associate)

1) What questions should I expect from the corp dev directors and strategy director? 2) What questions should I ask them to show interest and curiosity? 3) Any other general advice?

GIven I have progressed through multiple titles in CD, I"ll  throw my hat in the ring:

1) Expect questions related to your deal experience. Being able to speak comprehensively to the role you had in your deal teams will be key. Questions such as:

  • How did the deal come to fruition (from a sourcing standpoint)?
  • What were your key responsibilities during the deal?
  • How were you able to manage the progression of the deal?
  • What are the team dynamics typically look like (in terms of staffing and how collaborative your team is)?

2) You should ask questions about the role and team itself. For example:

  • What types of transactions do you typically look at (acquisitions, divestitures or JV partnerships to name a few)?
  • What regions are your focus (domestic and/or international)? Also, what sectors is the company targeting for growth (Note: you should do some research on recent acquisitions by the company)
  • What does the Deal Process look like at the firm? How big is the team? What do the coordination efforts look like between the deal team, legal team and integration team?
  • As a manager, what expectations do you have for someone coming into the role in terms of hitting the ground running vs. ramping up over a six-month timeframe?

3) General advice is to be personable. It helps being knowledgable about the role and the Company, but even more so if the people interviewing can envision working with you and basically making their lives easier by hiring you
