Not that big of a deal, as long as you can get something IB adjacent when you start applying for junior year internships early next year. I would target the small boutiques. Prestige/size means little and you should focus on getting relevant transactional skills.
Apps opened in September for 2024 summer. Most are closed or close this month. I’m a sophomore looking for a 2024 summer internship.
oh. Most likely too late for any BB, or any notable EB and MMs. Start looking at regional banks. Also, focus on junior summer. Getting an internship in (p/e, asset management, financial analyst, something relevant) may be easier and is better than being empty handed.
I have friends at semi-target schools who tell me that they lie about being juniors to these small IB boutiques. They don't care if they ruin the relationship; they just want to pad their resumes for when it comes to interviews for MM/BB/EB SA positions.
Pretty much, yeah. If they ask just say you plan on graduating a year early. Once your internship is over to save face you can just let them know you changed your mind and want to “extend” your graduation. Just be creative with it.

How do they pull that off? Lie on the resume, the interview, and during the summer?
