Deloitte Federal Business Technology vs KPMG Risk Analytics - Securitization

Hi all,

I'm a grad student in Data Analytics at a non target school trying to pick between Deloitte Federal Business Technology consulting and KPMG Risk Analytics - Securitization internships.

In undergrad I spent quite some time looking at threads on this site. I went into my grad program hoping to do some tech focused things but they also offer analytics classes for finance. I was not expecting the KPMG internship to be there when I started applying to jobs.

Here's how it looks to me: On one hand, I could go with Deloitte in the hopes of getting into a better Business school (someone in the same position I'm applying to got into Wharton, for example) and try to break into finance with no work experience in the field. There's also a small probability of getting school paid for by them. On the other hand, I could gain relevant finance experience but risk lowering the bar for potential schools. I've been told that the work done in securitization is the same work done for similar departments at major banks.

Thanks for reading!
