Difference in Schools

So "Target Schools" are obviously prefered over most other schools. However is there a difference between on campus and online schools? For example, is there a difference in the employers mind between going to USC on campus and USC online programs? Would it state that you were in the online program on the diploma?

It depends on the school as to the diploma, but it is highly frowned upon. I consider that to be a material piece of information and would fire someone if they failed to disclose it.

If it's not on the diploma is there any way an employer can find out? Not that it's an important 'secret' but if it's not on the resume or diploma and if it is not brought up in the interview, why bother with it?

When would this usually get disclosed? I feel as if it would be impossible to tell pre-interview, and during the interview as long as somebody didnt bring it up.

The school should indicate such terms. For instance, if you receive a diploma through a reputable school's online program, the school generally has requirements for what you should disclose and when you should disclose it. It is possible that if the program is credible enough, USC may not require any disclosures.

Check with the school's career services center.

Aside from being looked down upon, generally online degrees do not provide access to the school's OCR, have limited career services assistance and most importantly, possess much easier admissions requirements.
