Difficulty Pivoting Roles

After graduating I decided to take on a risk and join a very early stage healthcare startup. I was able to negotiate a little performance based equity stake since the salary was quite brutal. The founder came from a well-known MM investment bank and had done very well at his last startup (this one was related to his last).

Recently I have found that working remote for my first job out of college is an awful experience and I have started to look for a new role. I currently live in New York City so I have painted myself into a bit of a corner when it comes to job searching. I graduated with pretty mediocre grades (3.1 GPA) and was able to gain experience through an equity research internship and a rotational internship at a Brokerage in Richmond, VA.

I wanted to seek advice on best steps for moving on right now. I have mass blasted applications as well as taken a snipers approach with networking calls and what not. It seems that there is nothing out there currently. I plan to take the CFA in February in an attempt to beef up my resume and have also thought about going back to school.
