Discussing CFA® in an interview

I've just graduated from undergrad and have been surprised by the number of professionals who have absolutley zero clue as to what the CFA® exam or the designation. As so I've often gotten asked what the charter covers. I've always done my best to talk about how the level 1 relates to the job, or the level 2 which I am now studying for relates, but I'm not really exactly sure as what I should say.

I had one idiot recruiter hired by a PE firm go "I see you passed level 1 of the CFA®, I passed the Series 7 so that's basically the same thing, right?"

If anyone else here who has passed part or all of the exams has any input as to how they describe it it would be greatly appreciated.
