Diversity programs on LinkedIn?

So before y’all monkey shit me into oblivion. Yes I agree it’s cringe as fuck when I see people write paragraphs about 2 hour online diversity summits and then add them as “experiences”. But can they potentially give me a leg up from a recruiting perspective?

I’ve been to programs for a lot of top firms so far and I’ve kept my mouth completely shut about them on linkedin. But I’ve noticed it seems like a LOT of people are adding them. And not gonna lie if I was a recruiting it would definitely get my attention if I saw all those, kinda like “oh shit this kids getting looks at all these places. He can’t be that bad then, let’s give him a shot”.

Honestly it’s kindaaaa tempting to just throw JPM, PJT, GS, WF, and Jef on there but I also worry that it’ll bury my actual experiences. I think it would be cool if LinkedIn had an “Events” section on your profile, but that’s another thread.

Tldr should I put it on there or not? If so, where? Would one line on my resume listing them out be better?

I've never though this. Put it on there if you're genuinely proud and want to share your experience/feelings with others, but it won't change anything. It's social media, it's honestly not that weird now, especially with the current generation that loves to post/share everything about their lives.

Imo, yes.
