Do I have a chance at full time IB recruiting?

I've heard that IB FT is impossible to recruit for without previous IB internship experience. However, I'm at a top target and did my summer internship at MBB. After the MBB internship I realized I mightve made a mistake by going for consulting instead of IB. I want to my work to have more tangible impact (actually executing live transactions) rather than just making high level ppt slides with questionable value add.

Is my best chance at IB to do  2 years at MBB then go for an MBA to make the switch or is it possible to switch now? I don't want to invest time recruiting/ networking if this is unlikely to happen. Also I would rather stay at MBB then move to a no-name regional boutique IB

Also does my reason for wanting to switch to IB make sense or am I suffering from grass is greener syndrome ?

if you think you will get more tangible impact in banking than consulting, you're in for a rough ride. at least the first two years of banking will be making high level powerpoint slides with questionable value add. anyways there's def some firms still recruiting FT so you're not too late

Thank you! Good to know,  do you know if this still applies if I spend some time full time in consulting? If I go full time at MBB is there any chance I'll be able to recruit for banking after 1-2 years?

Chance: ~1 yr experience at MBB > FT recruiting now > less than 1 yr relevant experience.

You'll have top candidacy at MM after 1 year at MBB and it's group dependent for EB/BB.
