Do resume drops work?

I have been resume dropping for a summer 2024 internship on sites like Linkedin, Glassdoor, and Handshake. I've probably done this like 400 times, and my prior work experience is not bad. I have a 3.4 GPA as an incoming freshman, but have sophomore status cuz of AP and dual enrollment credits. Any thoughts on why I haven't gotten a response yet?

At one point I cold applied for 1,500 positions over a few months. I would generally get 1 of 100 in person interviews.

Maximizing Shareholder Value

Interesting, is that just because they are highly competitive? I mean I'm not even gunning for a good internship, I'm just applying to everything.

Most of the jobs I applied to got like a million apps, so it is hard to stand out among the crowd.
