Does Your Bachelor's Grade Matter for Landing Top Jobs in Europe?

Hi WSO readers,

I have a question for you. Do you know if the bachelor’s graduation grade significantly affects the chances of landing a job in Europe? For example, do you know if after completing a master’s degree and multiple internships, my bachelor’s graduation grade can still greatly impact my chances of landing a job in top consulting or investment banking?

To be more clear, I’ve just finished my bachelor’s degree at a tier 1 university in Europe and am starting my master’s degree at another target university. I'm a bit worried that because my bachelor’s graduation grade isn’t that high (99/110), I might be rejected by MBB firms or BBs during the initial application stage. I’ve noticed that their employees are often honors graduates, which makes me concerned that I won't even get the chance to pass the initial screening and demonstrate my capabilities in an interview.

So, do you think that even if I get excellent grades in my master’s program, my bachelor’s final grade will still affect me? Or do you think they will not focus too much on it and that I can compensate with my master’s and internships performances?

Thank you very much for your help and time!
