ER with Deutsche Bank?

Hey all.

So i'm in a little bit of a strange situation here. I go to a non-target school in the south, and I had an opportunity fall in my lap to work in the equities research department at Deutsche Bank in Jacksonville FL. I'm a little suspicious of the entire thing, given that it's far past the time that DB would usually be trying to hire people into these positions, however I'm told that they're strapped for bodies since they're moving most of their IBD from New York to Jacksonville.

The thing is that their offer is very low, and I have a couple other offers (not in IB) that are around 50.

The entire process seems out of the norm, and I don't want to take a job at the prestigious DB for bad pay only to be laid off in the office-moving shuffle after a year or so.

What do you think of this situation? The other offers pay quite a bit and have great benefits, and it seems like DB is being cheap by moving from NY and it's showing in the compensation

It's impossible to give you good advice if you don't tell us what the other jobs are, what you want to do in the future, and how much the current job is offering.

Off of what you've told us, I'd say hold out for something better.

Hey, Jacksonville, FL native here. DB just received money from the city so they decided to expand their operations down there--they're hiring plenty of people for long term positions. It's all part of Jacksonville trying to redefine its image from "an extension of Georgia" to "cosmopolitan meth capital of the south"
