Europe career move

Hello, I am a recent college grad currently doing IB in the south east and I am looking to get into REPE. Currently, I am aiming to move to NYC and work for a REPE firm there. It would be fun to live there while I am young and I think working for a high quality firm in NYC would be a good stamp on my resume.

I also think it would be cool to live in Europe (likely London) for a few years before starting a family. Which path would be easier for me follow: south east -> nyc -> Europe -> south east or south east -> Europe -> nyc -> south east?

I assume it would be easier to do nyc -> Europe -> south east but wanted to get the input from others on this firm.

Also, would going to Europe limit my ability to move back to USA? I understand real estate can be pretty regional and don't want to go over there if I can't get back to a well paying firm in the south east. Thank you!
