Exit Big 4 Tax - Unhappy Accountant

I get my CPA done, work at big 4 tax for over one year, but I am now very unhappy with my job. Tax and accounting are too much about crunching numbers and presentation and have very little financial analysis involved. Does anyone have advice on searching for the next career move? Should I ask for a transfer to Advisory Transaction services, or should I look for financial analyst job outside of big 4? My ultimate career goal is to work in M&A advisory and strategy. Also, I'm an expat on H1B Visa, so finding jobs outside of big 4 and big corporations/banks are extremely difficult. At least I'm still young and willing to put up with the hours, but the boring nature of tax job is burning me out now. Any advice is appreciated!
