Finding Non-Target Alumni Using Bloomberg

I'm a long time lurker but a first time poster. I stumbled on a great technique to find alumni from Non-Target schools on Bloomberg the other day. You can find relevant professionals in investment banking, equity research, private equity, etc. by using the "PEOP" Bloomberg search function.

This was by far the most efficient way that I have ever been able to find alumni from my very non-target school. Utilizing this technique easily doubled or tripled the amount of relevant alumni on my list. Feel free to reply or message me for any questions. I am curious to hear if other people have used this strategy as well.

You can obtain their email or message them on Bloomberg. I googled them as well to look for LinkedIn, email, phone, etc.

I planned on sending them a general networking email. There are a ton of templates on this site so it just comes down to personal preference.

If you get a profile on Bloomberg you can message these people as well. Works best for traders or capital markets people. I used it a lot years ago and it was very effective.

My alumni network has a directory as well as alumni clubs in cities across the world - its pretty helpful.

I have done this as well but did not think to post it. This is super helpful for non targets. Was able to get phone calls from people on here that were not on LinkedIn. +1 SB.
