List it. Even if future employers do a background check, it's just hiring a background check company who will simply call and ask "did chimpbot123 work here?" to which the firm will hopefully just say "yes".
Bigger risk than them explicitly mentioning you got let go midway (unlikely IMO) is if an interviewer pings people on Bloomberg at your former employer and asks if you were solid. But I think listing it opens up more opportunities than ones that will be closed due to this hypothetical.
