Following up with interviewers
Hi guys,
Here is the deal: I have been participating in a lateral BB IB position for an analyst role, interviewed with the group and the superday went very well (interviewers seemed to like what they were seeing, went through all the technical questions very smoothly) and they said they would interview other people and decide within the upcoming days. After the interview, I sent thank you e-mails to the group. After that, have been following up with them on a biweekly basis (I have sent some e-mails after the thank you note), and in the last one they said that there are some internal processes that must be complete before headcount approval, and that they would get back to me when they had news.
What does that mean? Should I call them? Considering that they did not give me a definitive YES or NO answer, is there a higher chance that I am the chosen candidate given that they mentioned headcount approval? I think that if they were to cut me off the process they would have done so already. How do these internal processes work?
Thanks!
anyone? this has been killing me
Nobody can answer with any certainty.
But seems more like an excuse than anything. Doesn't make much sense to go through with a recruiting process without first having the headcount.
Hopefully it works out for you.
Thanks for your input. I hope it works out!
I don't know if I wasn't very clear, but this is actually an off-cycle position and I believe that they were talking with some people in advance, so when the time comes, they have already interviewed / known some of them. My "superday" was actually very unstructured, with random conversations with different people in different days. That's the main reason I am hoping that if they were to ding me, they would have done it already. Does it make more sense now?
