Franchising Opportunities

I’m currently considering investing in a 7v7 soccer league that offers franchise opportunities. It looks like a relatively low-cost, low time-commitment opportunity (roughly 10–20 hours/week), and I’m really passionate about the game—I already run my own team in a local league.

The initial investment is around $50K, and if I can reasonably generate $30–50K in annual side income, I see this as a solid first step into the franchising world. I currently work a full-time job in finance (8:30–5:30), which can be demanding, but since games and events are held on weekends or evenings, I believe I can manage both.

Longer-term, my vision is to open 2–3 franchises with cash, then possibly leave my job and expand further—maybe scale to multiple locations across the country. From there, I’d use the cash flow to invest in other soccer-related ventures or AI-resistant, non-brick-and-mortar franchise models (service-based businesses).

Given my finance background, I’m comfortable reading income statements and managing projects, but I know there’s always more to learn. What am I potentially overlooking here? Any red flags, hidden costs, or risks I should be thinking about before diving in?
