FT 2021 Networking
Anyone else having a hard time getting people on the phone? It was much easier for summer recruiting and now even with a return offer seems like no one is responding to networking emails. wonder if its because most places freezed FT hiring because of covid

Definitely take the return offer. I have found the same issue though. In June, I was having no problem getting people on the phone. Last couple weeks barely anyone has responded. Considering you have an offer, you're in a much better spot than me.
Tread carefully a lot of people without offers would kill to be in your spot. I know it’s part of the game but given the unique circumstances of covid some groups would rather go with someone who will sign right away as it saves them the hassle of recruiting again. Offers can be taken away as easily as they are given.
but the returns can’t be taken away until the expiration date right..? like the bank can’t just rescind the return cuz they are tired of waiting
they can do whatever they want with it. The offer letter has a deadline but they can rescind it as well
When I was an intern a few years back one of the kids in my class got his full time offer rescinded after they found out he was shopping his offer. Don't think it's very common but they can rescind their offer for any reason, so just be careful.
