FT Superday at EB – What to Expect / Tips?
I have a superday coming up at an EB for FT 2024 and was wondering what I could expect. For context, this coverage group will be different than the one I have the entirety of my resume experience, and I have never interviewed at an EB before (landed this by networking).
I have a lot of deal experience on my resume (unorthodox circumstances), so will my interviews be focused on my deal experience, or will they be more technical questions based? Will there also be a focus on behavioral?
Out of curiosity, what EB?
Probably PWP
Does PWP hire by group? I thought it was generalist unless its like TPH I suppose.

Bump - while I would like to add more details around the group/bank, it'll make me doxxable since it is a pretty tight process.
Would appreciate any insights on how past FT interviews have been for M&A at EBs – and how I could best prepare.
Is this a healthcare group?
How was your interview?

Hey man, first of all congrats on the interview! I successfully re-recruited this year for 2024 FT (PE firm, not a bank). I’d offer a couple pieces of advice, but would mainly emphasize that you want to be as prepared as possible given current market conditions. Otherwise, my three tips would be:
1) Be able to articulate why you are a perfect fit for the bank. Haven’t spent a ton of time talking to people at different EBs, but I can during FT PE recruiting different firms have different vibes. Bain Cap = consulting origins, everyone is very articulate around business models; Vista = love of software; Ares = cares about your understanding of all parts of the capital structure. Figure out what the focus is of the firm you’re interviewing at and try to craft a narrative and make it seem like you fit right in.
2) Know firm’s deals inside and out. Be able to go 3 deals deep and have a deal you can pitch.
3) Familiarize yourself with the KPIs of whatever industry you’re interviewing for. If you have friends or even professional acquaintances who would be willing to talk through the industry over the phone, take them up on it.
Did you rerecruit to a MF?
