Getting into Finance through a CS Bachelor Degree

From what I have heard it's more common in the UK or especially in the US to enter IB with a "foreign" degree - caveat you went to a top school.
For German IB this is not common and IB requires some type business/management/finance degree, or at least a component of it (Major in Management/Business). A WSO certificate won't help you for recruiting apart from being a "nice extra". Still a CS degree is due to its mathematical component not too far away from finance and you could give it a try for more quant heavy areas like quant trading or risk management jobs. Still I would suggest you to do a finance master, or a combination of CS and business (e.g. TUM tech + management master), if you really aim to break into finance.
Thank you and appreciate the response. But unfortunately I am not going to do CS in TU Munich but in TU Dresden. Any suggestions what I should be doing in order to look out for a job (after my bachelors possibly)?
I think internships in the business/finance area are the best way to go. Something quant finance or risk management related at first and then you might have a shot at "pure" finance roles in IB. After your bachelors you should consider doing management or finance related master.
Another option would be consulting. They tend to hire more frequently from non-business backgrounds.
Btw why do you choose to do a CS bachelor, although you actually want to enter finance? Why is a normal business administration bachelor (BWL) not an option?
I thought of doing a BWL bachelor but I am interested in building things and I know it contradicts having a job in finance in areas like quant/stats and also who doesn't like money. Also CS bachelor helps opening different opportunites(atleast i have heard)
I went to a target and did this in the UK.
Just make sure you know your technicals and have a reason behind why you didn’t want to do SWE/Quant .
Quant is something I have in mind, and SWE is great but I would rather be working in finance than working at a tech company. (Idk maybe i am wrong)
