Graduated in May (Industrial Engineering/Economics)- No Finance Experience, Need Advice

Hello, everyone, I graduated in May from a decent private school with degrees in industrial engineering (3.65 major GPA) and economics (3.8 major GPA) and have made a firm decision to pursue a career in finance. I have had 3 internships doing analytical work (non-finance), but my research and discussions have affirmed my decision to go into finance. Given my skill set and desired scope of work, I would like to work with an investment bank or a firm with similar analyst duties. I've read through many of the posts about breaking into the industry as an engineer (with no banking experience), but most of these are about pursuing internships in the final years of college. So far, I have had decent luck by going up and talking my way into meetings at firms in my school's city, but there aren't many IB/PE firms here. I have also cold emailed/cold called and gotten some responses , but these were also all in the city I am located in.

My question to you guys is this: How can I target MM/boutique banks in cities that I am not located in, given that I am a non-finance graduate with no finance internship experience? Also, should I be looking at internships or full time positions?

TL;DR: Just graduated with no finance experience and want to get a job in the industry. Need advice on how to proceed from here. Have been hitting the streets and cold calling locally, but need to branch out of the city where I am located.
