GS ops vs TD Ameritrade Investment Consultant
I need your help. I currently landed a job at GS in ops in a non hub city. I cant believe how offensively low the pay is. I have been in sales before and currently have an active Series 7. My friend whom i used to work with just last yr is now on track to make 120- 150k a yr at TD as an IC. I wouldnt be making that kind of money until VP level in ops at GS. about 8 yrs in. Is it worth staying in ops at GS or have a go in sales again and try TD as an IC? anyone worked as an IC? any comparable numbers you can give besides whats on glassdoor?
anything will help. im just sick of not getting paid what i know i should be.
In before the shit storming from these two comments "im just sick of not getting paid what i know i should be "I cant believe how offensively low the pay is."
If you're sick of not getting paid what you know you should be paid...then get a better job. If you can't get a better job, then you are getting paid exactly what you should be.
I like this answer.
Dude, no one does Ops for the money. Didn't you research the role before applying? Nevertheless, it sounds like you wouldn't be a good fit for the role anyways and I suggest you try your luck with TD. Might be a long shot but see if your friend will give you a referral.
