How many people should I reach out to for each bank?
I’ve compiled 35ish banks to apply to for IB SA26 internships. How many people should I reach out to network with from each bank? Also, what should the breakdown be among the level of seniority? For exmaple should it be 1 VP or higher and 2 associates or lower?
I know evercore Rx has a limit of 1 chat and I’ve heard that HL requires you to have 2 (but not for Rx??)
Do other banks have max/min quotas like these?
To clarify, I’m not taking abt chats with people at the banks. I’m taking about how many people to email from each bank
Would start off with analyst and associates but focus on people who you have a common connection either to have the highest response rate. I think a couple people from a bank when sending out a batch is fine - just don’t blast the bullpen since it gets obvious then
So would 2 associates or below and 1 VP or above (all alumni from my school which is a target) per bank work? Thanks so much!
Happy to help - yes, that seems totally normal. You just need one of them to hop on the phone and have a good conversation with them. Then, at the end of a solid call, request to be passed along to someone else to chat with. If you have had a few good touch points, you should be in a good spot for a first round. Being at a target will help a lot. A good GPA and some basic finance experience / previous internships will also go a long way
