How many referrals is too many?

Hi everyone!

Im in the recruitment process for IB summer internship at a middle market bank and have been networking with one of my school’s alumni who has been SO much help.

he said that if all went well for the first round assessments I would likely get straight into to superday (miracle ik ..).

anyways, I go to a non target school and have worked my ASS off networking and teaching myself independently so I am well prepared and plan to over-prepare if all goes well and super day happens.

I was wondering if it would be a good idea to network or coffee chat with other associates/ employees at the bank or is it too late in my process? I also don’t want to look like a weirdo adding so many people to my network and asking them to chat (obviously in a polite way).

any advice is helpful!

If the process has started and you have already networked with some people then I'd say it's unnecessary and bit late. If that alum is the only person you've networked with at the bank, then you might want to network with some other people to get a better sense of the culture at the bank and be able to name drop more people during the SD
