How to become BB analyst if I’m Ireland?
(Sorry if I posted this twice posted it in Trading forum by accident) I am from Ireland and am 15. I am in Transition Year (fourth year) in secondary school. I have always been interested in Private equity, hedge funds and investment banking. I am athletic and do well in sports and school. I have some questions regarding boosting my chances of becoming an Investment banking analyst. 1. Would I be better off doing a complicated college course like Finance and economics than something relatively easier like commerce? 2. What outside the box things can I do to increase my chances of becoming an investment banker, especially now that I have more free time in transition year? 3. Please again tell me some things that I can do to increase my chances Thanks
Might help to do a language for your leaving cert. not sure how the system is re: course selection but to work in Europe Eg France you need to know the local language.
Attend a target school for London IB (do a search for UK target schools) or a target/semi target in the US
Work hard for your leaving cert get and good points , UCD , Trinity and even UCC has good undergrad placement for IB in London. Thats is if you decide to stay in Ireland for your undergrad.
