How To Go About this Process? Please Help!

Hey Guys,

I know its super late in the game, but I am still trying to secure some experience for this summer.

I have scheduled some informational interviews with 3 alumnus in IB/PE this week. I was wondering exactly how to go about this and ask if I could help out upaid/paid this summer. I am a sophomore, do you think they would just give me advice and not have me work for them?

Also, if you guys have any interview prep or any advice on how I should prepare, what I should know. Please add that as well.

In short, how do I get from first phone call-->experience this late in the summer?

Thanks,
MacroMonkey4

To be frank, its too late for something structured for this summer. It's almost mid June bro. I could understand if it was when a lot of us got out of school in mid May, but mid June is way too late. Your best bet would be to just ask a connection/relative/family friend who works in financial services and just ask if you can intern/shadow at their firm for free for a month or two and do bull shit work. Thats what I did summer before college. But you never know, if you have a very close senior connection at a small boutique, they might let you do some work if you start this month. But you should definitely do something if you want to be competitive for next summer.
