How to Quit Banking and Actively Recruit Prior to On-Cycle

Title pretty much says it all. Started working at a bulge bracket as an analyst this past July in NYC and have honestly become jaded towards the job within the first few months. Have barely had time to keep in touch with family, have lost touch with more friends than I can count, and the amount of anxiety that's come from this and always being on call is unbearable.

I don't want this to be a rant post since I'm hoping to get some takeaways from people who were successful in actively recruiting for other jobs (other than the typical on-cycle, 2 year out recruitment process). My initial goal in getting into this job was to head towards a real estate private equity buyside role after 1-2 years as most people in my group typically do, but I. 'm reconsidering due to the above reasons.

I know the REPE recruiting process is a bit less structured than the typical PE process so has anyone been successful in actively recruiting for a REPE role beyond just having recruiters reaching out to you? Any advice would be seriously helpful.
