How to salvage Hirevue, should I reapply ?

How does the HireVue round work for GS ? I got the Hirevue without getting on a call (target school, emailed ~20 people w no response, emailed HR,...). I did the Hirevue weeks ago and it went pretty mid (7/10, stuttered a bit),  definitely could have done better and I was wondering how much it matters. I have chats with analysts next week and I could ask them about the Hirevue and hopefully ask them to vouch for me but I don’t know what else I could do to salvage this.

My friend told me to reapply (he did so last cycle) and do it perfectly this time, but then that would mean losing all the connections I will have made since this is a new account. Could ask alum during coffee chat about this but I feel like it will come across as desperate and I personally think it's not worth it. Feeling super stuck on how to salvage this hirevue and would appreciate any advice !
