HSBC Investment Banking (Asia)
Any one had first round investment banking interview with HSBC IBD HK? Have you guys heard back from them about the superday yet? I heard their Final round is 2 FEB in NYC...
That early?? Isn't HSBC HK deadline is like 1/31??

anyway... it confirm that their final round is on the 2 feb
It's been forever since my online status changed to "Invited to Final Assessment", but I have no idea when they're holding assessment events for its HK-based grad positions. They're seriously slow and I think the whole HR dept is on vacation.

How good is HSBC for IBD in either Asia or U.S.? Is either location worth going to for banking?
HSBC Ibanking is pretty weak. A while back HSBC paid top notch for a bunch of bankers. They stayed long enough to get paid and then quit. Really , REALLY conservative bank. If you had to choose I would pick Asia. Michael Geoghegan, the group CEO, moved his offices to HK to show the banks commitment towards the Asia market.
I just passed 5 HSBC CVs to our lateral recruiting at the request of a friend there.. everyone in HSBC HK is trying to get out..
One friend just got an offer from them, the financials are quite ok, and he is told that the bonus is not bad neither. So why those people are leaving? any particular reasons?
Although in IB HSBC is still a large gap behind BB, I think HSBC is still a decent place in Hong Kong market considering its synergy with commercial banking arm. Anyway, I still did not get an interview from it.
The only ok team in HSBC's investment banking is the UK team. Other than that, do not go for it unless you have no other choice.
