I said that I will accept the job offer, can I still negotiate salary?
A recruiter offered me a job on the phone and I said that I would accept the job. I thought it would be wise to receive a formal offer before salary negotiations. Did I do this wrong? How should I go about negotiating? Do I negotiate with HR instead? Thanks in advance!
I'm sure negotiations will be through HR and not the recruiter, if you search through the forums you can find some threads talking about salary negotiations
If you didn't sign a contract yet I would still negotiate.

Got an offer from a ~tier 2 boutique management consulting firm ("Company A") ~2.5 weeks ago. The firm never specified a date for when they wanted me to decide, but partners/MDs have been in contact with me over the last two weeks to stay in the loop regarding my decision. I had been waiting on an offer and comp details from another firm ("Company B"), but officially signed Company A's offer letter yesterday since I preferred their firm and I had partners breathing down my neck.
However, Company B came back with their offer, and the base is 15% higher than Company A's (bonus is less however). I know I don't really have much room to negotiate since I signed A's offer but is there any diplomatic way I can test the waters with company A to see if they can bump my salary up a little? I'm not necessarily trying to go into a negotiation process, just want to see if there's a "nice" way to start the conversation with company A's HR people. I certainly don't want to have a diva reputation upon starting, and this is a small firm (~100 consultants) so I am wary of looking clumsy/bad attitude, asking for more money after the fact.
For what it's worth, Company A is only paying me $5K more than I was previously making (not sure if that's at all relevant here).
