IB in India

Hey, I'm Ved currently working as a IB associate in ECM team of a major US bank in India. I have done grad from Pune Univeristy and MBA from FMS I have also cleared CFA level 2. There is not much information about IB in india I want to help undergrads and working professional who want to break into IB. When I was a undergrad there was no one to guide me so if you have any queries feel free to share I will try to answer your question.

Thank you so much for doing, I really appreciate it, I had a few questions:

How does recruitment for Investment Banking work at top colleges? I assume IBs would be Day zero. How many banks come to FMS and how many offers do they give out? Approximately how many people apply and how many get internship offers?

I'm still in college(B.com),apart from keeping my grades up and trying to get internships, what are the best things I can do to make sure I land an offer when summers come around in MBA, Are learning skills such as data science at all relevant?

Are salaries really 50 L base + 80-100% bonus at US BBs after MBA?

Was there any recruitment for Jobs in Dubai, Do you know of any transfers to Dubai after a few years?

I've read online that a lot of people who fail to get jobs In FO get BO/MO jobs mainly supporting London/Us teams and get transferred to these desks in a few years if they are good enough, Is this true?

Thank you so much for taking the time, I'd really appreciate it if you can answer any of these questions

Thank you for doing this very less info on WSO on India.

afaik IB is day zero at IIM ABC While most banks hire summer analysts, they often don't recruit for final placements.

How does networking help analyst roles in India? if I get into IIM next year should I start networking with IB VPs, and ASO on LinkedIn to show I am interested in their group/firm/sector?

how is IIFT for finance front-end IB at domestic banks (Kotak, Avendus, o3 capital)?

also curious to know what are the exits in BB/MM IB domestic banks.

I am from an ultra non-target tier 3 engg college, so my chances for getting an interview for IB are close to none even at the back office. giving MBA exams this year.

can you share recruiting tips for avg acads profiles how should I plan?
