Internship 2024 Help - What more can I do?

Hi! Currently a rising sophomore at a non-target university (Public Ivy). Have applied to open internship postings at most bulge bracket firms (not approached boutique or mid market yet). GPA is 4.0 and co-curriculars are reasonable. Also worked as a Professorial Assistant in the Department of Finance as a freshman.

How should I approach the networking aspect of IB? Everyone says that "connections are the key" and I have been working on making my LinkedIn solid but need some industry advice as all of this is somewhat overwhelming. Students around me are already firming up their 2024 summer plans but I'm not as far ahead despite having a reasonably solid resume.

One of the easiest points of contact are alumni for your school, including any business schools that may or may not work with undergrads. After that, you want to try to find people you have any commonality with and reach out to them. If that doesn’t pan out, just reach out to anybody you can. The most important thing is to be likable and not waste their time with stupid questions; most investment bankers spend the vast majority of their waking hours at work, and they’d rather bring someone on who they know isn’t a complete stiff or pain to be around.
