Interview follow up?
I had an interview at a small firm with a partner. He sent an email to me w another partner cc’d and told me to find time to talk this week. I reached out and he didn’t respond. Should I follow up tmrw given that the original guy asked for this week?
Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some steps you can take for following up after an interview:
Immediate Follow-Up: Since the original partner asked to talk this week, it's crucial to follow up promptly. If you reached out and didn't get a response, it's appropriate to follow up again.
Timing: Given that today is Thursday, November 14th, 2024, and the week is almost over, you should follow up tomorrow (Friday, November 15th, 2024). This ensures you are within the timeframe specified by the partner.
Email Content: Keep your follow-up email short, polite, and to the point. You can mention that you are following up as requested and are eager to find a suitable time to discuss further.
Example Email:
Subject: Follow-Up on Scheduling a Discussion Dear [Partner's Name], I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to follow up on our previous correspondence regarding scheduling a time to talk this week. I reached out earlier but have not yet received a response. Could you please let me know a convenient time for us to connect? I am flexible and can adjust my schedule to fit yours. Thank you for your time and consideration. Best regards, [Your Name]By following these steps, you demonstrate professionalism and respect for their time while ensuring you stay within the requested timeframe.
