Investment Banking analyst scrub dreams

like the title states, I’ve been lurking WSO for the past two weeks and I haven’t found any posts that relate to me and my questions so I figured I would make a post since I can’t be the only person lurking this in the same predicament. I’m looking to get into investment banking but I feel as though after reading a lot of the posts on here that I may have “missed the boat”. Majority of the investment banking analyst posts on here that cater to the “getting into investment banking” topic seem to be individuals that are still in college going for their undergraduate that are able to hone their skills specifically to IB based on classes that will prepare them best for it while still in school that will give them the best shot at getting the IB analyst position. I’ll be honest when I was in college I had literally no idea Wtf I wanted to do with my life, but I was interested in potentially going into banking, politics or law school in some form so I majored in political science. I have 3 years of banking experience being on the brokerage side and I passed the SIE/Series7/series 66 this past March before COVID-19 showed up. I will be 28 this year and after reading a lot of the posts I just feel like I may have missed the chance to get into investment banking analyst roles since I’m older and do not have the Ivy League finance/ business degree that it seems everyone posting on here about IB analyst roles has. I graduated from FSU, but it’s not an Ivy League school so I would say it’s irrelevant to helping me into IB. Has my ship indeed sailed? is there a different position I should look at to get into investment banking aside from an investment banking analyst position since i have a few years of banking experience even though it isn’t IB specifically? I’m really looking to try and get my foot in the door of IB since I know I’m behind the 8 ball and I would be willing to look at positions that may not be the most glamorous just to get in there and then be able to prove my self. if anyone has any position titles they think may be a good alternative for my case please let me know!!
