Investment Banking Book By Rosenbaum and Pearl

For context, I just recently graduated high school and will be attending college in the fall. I recently purchased this book and as I started reading it, I quickly realized I was not understanding much of the content. I could just be retarded, but do I need some background knowledge before reading this book? If I do, what are some resources or books that can help me prepare? Any guidance would be appreciated.

I’d recommend learning basic 3 statement accounting before even attempting to dig into that book, especially when you are that young and have time to go slow and learn the foundations before you go into the nitty gritty. If you don’t know accounting you won’t understand shit in that book

Echoing this, take a financial accounting crash course to understand how the statements flow together

Read the BIWS guides first that’s what I did and as I am reading the Rosenbaum/pearl book rn as a rising sophomore I am familiar with a lot of this stuff already.

Don’t think it’s really an introductory type of book, you really gotta know the accounting and enterprise/equity value basics.

So no you’re not retarded, you just don’t know the basics first.
