Investment Banking Lateral Hiring for May Graduates

So, I've got about a year's worth of experience in banking, and then I decided to take a little detour and dive into a Master of Finance program from the top university in the States. Being an international student, I'm in need of H1B sponsorship. I've been hustling, reaching out to bankers left and right, but it feels like most of the spots are already taken.. And with the market being a bit rough lately, it's been a bit of a challenge. I'm cool with exploring opportunities in both EB and MM, but I'm just not sure where these lateral positions are opened currently. Graduation is right around the corner, and I'm starting to sweat about not having something lined up.

So, I guess my question is, what's the best strategy for someone in my shoes? And if banking doesn't pan out, what other options should I consider? Appreciate any insights or advice you've got!
