Is my friend toast?
He got a 2.5 GPA last semester (which is his first). He goes to a community college too. Is he toast for investment banking recruiting? or can he still do it?

I think we all know the answer
“Asking for a friend”
Yes he is toast
He’s more like bread.
Damn. Looks like he's going to kill himself.
Add some butter

No, he isn't toast - I started at CC and am going to be doing banking FT come August.
Granted I never got a 2.5 GPA in a semester - look the thing most people don't realize is that when he transfers, his GPA does not carry to the new institution. So for now your friend needs to focus on making his GPA as high as possible for transfer applications and try his best to transfer to a decent school. From there, his new GPA will start from scratch, and he can start to recruit.
I got like a 1.7 GPA one term but it was an anomaly compared to the higher average before and after. It certainly lowered my cumulative but it all worked out in the end. Try to get above 3.5 before you graduate and you’ll be okay. Er - your friend will lol

You're so kind to look out for your friend. Good on you.
