Is Venture Debt at a Bank a Good Gig?

I know this won't apply to many people's experience on the forum, but hoping that there are some commercial/corporate side bankers who can chime in.

I'm 1 year into my credit analyst stint at a decently sized bank - maybe T3 according to this forum. An MD from the Venture Debt group has expressed some interest in me joining the team (yes it's within the bank), and I was wondering if that seems like a good move. Quite honestly I don't enjoy underwriting credit much and the only "challenge" about the job is finding the energy to do the menial tasks (our bank notoriously has more redundancies than other commercial banks).

Is the move a good idea? I'm wondering how the hours/comp/workflow would compare to my current job. Would love to hear from anyone who's made a switch, or anyone currently in Venture Debt who could speak to this.
