Lateral from BB AM (GS, MS, JPM) to IB...thoughts?

Hey guys - anyone have thoughts the above? Either tips, tricks, and strategies for making the move or reaffirming that it’s ridiculously hard?

Background: top-20 target school, solid GPA, working on top-tier AM role for a little less than a year. It’s a fine role with similar comp, but I’m hoping to transition to a more transactional and deal-specific role.

I’ve had a few suggestions - move to a MM IB or network aggressively with VP and above in existing BB - but curious whether anyone had additional pointers and principles they’d recommend following.
