Lateral job moves
Currently work for a direct lender in the equipment/project finance space in a sales/direct originations role with deal sizes1-50M. I am involved in the whole deal process from initial discussions to writing term sheets and presenting to our investment committee. We take a very consultative approach and focus on building long term relationships. I majored in finance and have and MBA from a small D2 school where I played sports. I’ve been in my current role ~20 months and am looking to switch because I’m getting bored, it’s the same thing every day, not many career growth options, and I don’t like prospecting- it’s a majority of my day-to-day. I’m very analytical and and a fast learner with a good work ethic
i thought about IB but don’t think I’d enjoy the work life balance aspect, interested in PE and working closely with portcos, or maybe corp. dev or corporate banking. I want a role with various career gold options, good comp, and good variety in my day-to-day tasks. Any recommendations or advice is much appreciated
