Lawyer interested in breaking into the Hedge Funds and PE space
Hi all. I'm an attorney currently working in the corporate governance division at a big investment bank in New York City, where I perform compliance and regulatory functions. I formerly worked at a law firm doing securities litigation work. At my firm, I had some exposure to private equity firms and hedge funds, but to a limited degree. I am seeking advice on how to target private equity firms and hedge funds to work as a compliance/regulatory attorney. I know that these places typically don't post jobs online, and the market is highly competitive, so any insight is appreciated! Thank you.
I thought that these companies hire the big law firms as opposed to having a large team of in-house counsel.
