Lying about GPA 2.9-> 3.2

On my resume, I typically leave my GPA off. On sites I usually enter 3.3 or 3.2 Recently I networked with a fellow at an investment bank, he asked for my GPA and I provided it I added, .3 to it. Making it a 3.2,

Am I fucked?

Best way to play it off, if anything were to happen?

Another firm who has offered me hasn't asked for it, I put 3.2 on their site.

Edit: I do have a some what legit reason it is low, health issue that interfered for the past 9 years, and going to college with a younger brother who was battling mental health issues, I devoted all of my free time trying to come to his rescue.

Perhaps if they ask, I will just say that I mistaken a semester that had a 3.3 GPA and misread it for the cumulative?

One more possible solution: I could write to them and explain that my GPA is off, I understand they may want to pursue a different candidate and apologize to them for that. MAYBE, just MAYBE, they would still give me a shot?

You can't get out of this one.

Withdraw from these firms. Apply to other ones with your legit GPA.

There is no way out? How will I get anywhere with a 2.9. Is grad school the best option?

No way to just leave it as is and take the offer?

I don't know, maybe an MSF if you do well on the GRE?

Not sure how you play it off seeing as you purposefully lied about it. Maybe you can plea with them about how you're just trying to get your foot in the door, but don't really see that flying either.

I mean do you actually have a good reason for why your GPA is so low? Family reasons? Health issues? Other extenuating circumstances? Barring something pretty serious on those fronts, this is on you

I had a health condition that made studying brutal. I couldn't focus because of it. I just had a surgery performed a few months back.

My younger brother was depressed constantly, and I had to take on the rsponsibilities of 2 people doing everything from paying bills, being there for him etc. We attended the same university for a few years.

Frankly the better move would've been to be honest about it when asked in person. I get why putting a higher GPA on an online form might be your only option there but seems to me that you're much better off giving your true GPA and trying to fit in that kind of explanation if you ever make it past the screening.

This paragraph really pisses me off. Don't make excuses. You made your own bed. Deal with it. Be a man and don't lie about it or lie to cover up lies.

Also, if you ever say this in person to someone to cover up a lie, you will be permanently be written off in their mind. They will smile and nod and then say they feel for you and ultimately write you out of their life.

500 people. Now, imagine, I get 4.0 in my final semester, I replace a C- with an A and boost the GPA to 3.08, Does that change anything? Hopefully they won't ask until after I graduate.
