Making a class Pass/No Pass
I'm a double major in Music/Economics and also have an Accounting Minor. I'm currently in a very difficult accounting class as part of my minor, and possibly looking to make it Pass/No Pass. I'm allowed to take one class Pass/No Pass for the minor and this would definitely be the one class to do so.
Can anyone shed some light on whether this is a good idea?
My counselor said some Grad schools or Employers might mark me off for this, but I'm not sure. After all, it's just for my minor and I already have a IB SA job coming up.
Any thoughts? Real world examples?
I have never had to show an employer my transcript, which is where it will show credit/no credit. The only thing to consider is that some graduate business schools will take a "credit" grade and recalculate your GPA as if you had received a "C" in the class (this is the lowest possible grade you need to get credit, so they assume the worst). However, I do not know which schools do it this way...
Hope this helps.
If you need to take econometrics then I would save it for that.
Goldman actually asks for a copy of your transcript for SA and Full Time Analyst roles. At least they did a couple years ago. I would check and ask others, since many employers would just assume that you did poorly in that course, without a valid excuse
