Masters: Course Vs Institution help, 0 offers
Hi all, In a bit of a predicament and was looking for advise, I'm a recent graduate at a semi target. I've completed 2 internships one as an investment analyst at a private credit fund, the other at buss Dev in an AM firm
I've applied to over 100 grad schemes and SAs but I've had zilch. The goal is to break into IB. I purposely didn't apply for BO roles, most of my cohort is currently doing big 4 audit / similar but this really didn't appeal to me from an intellectual standpoint
I'm now thinking of doing masters but I'm financially constrained, I was wondering whether you would suggest doing a relevant course such as msc finance in a semi target or doing a non related course at a target. Eg Msc finance at LSE Is out of the question. It's too expensive
The short list I have is to illustrate what I mean:
Economic history - Oxford
Development economics - Cambridge
Economic history - lse
These are a lot more affordable but much less relevant. I already have a solid foundation in finance having done a bsc in finance. However I'm cautious this may appear confusing in an interview or even may appear as an easy way to get a strong brand on my cv. However the issue is purely financial
Would appreciate any insight. I think i have a solid why IB story the plan is now to do the infamous masters glitch to have another shot at BB/EB
Kind regards
Why not take a loan? That's what I'm doing and I'm broke.
Gov covers 10k max I believe. No maintenance either
