MBA but Weak Background

I've been in sales for several years, mainly in the beverage industry, but took a break to complete a full time MBA. Now that I've finished, I'm trying to figure out what my options are in new industries but because of my background and level (mid-senior), I'm having a difficult time getting interviews.

What companies and positions would be more likely to welcome a sales background? Are there consulting companies that are more sales oriented? I find private equity and real estate very interesting but I'm not a numbers person. Any input appreciated.
