McKinsey (BA) or BigN Tech (Software Engineering)

I know these are very qualitatively different positions, but I'm having trouble deciding between the two. I'm a junior deciding on a summer internship and I was fortunate to receive two fantastic offers.

I've talked to a bunch of people and I've received mixed responses from them. Some people say McKinsey is a no brainer because of the exit ops, and others say that the Tech offer will be more fun/interesting and lead to a better work/life balance with good exit ops still.

Given that this is only a summer internship, I'm thinking about taking McKinsey and seeing how I like it. If I find out that I enjoy consulting+the lifestyle then I'll do it fulltime (if I hopefully get a return offer). Else I can re-recruit for tech.

Any advice? And more than which one you'd take (because I know this forum tends to lean towards consulting over tech), what questions are important for me to ask myself before deciding?

Congrats on the offer, but I think McKinsey will give you better opportunities, and you can always pursue technology later on.

I would take some time to consider what you would like to do.

McKinsey. I wonder what % of summer interns get full-time offers at McKinsey?
