Moving From Canada to the States

I have Canadian Investment Banking experience and been working in a small Private Equity for the past 3 year. I'm at the senior associate level now.

If I want to move to the States (I'm a Canadian Citizen), what's the best way to find a job? Should I go through recruiter? cold calling? just apply on the website?
