MSc Uni Brand Relevance for S&T
Hi, I wanted to get some thoughts from those working in the industry on the relevance of the brand name of a university, for a masters programme.
I have 2 offers- one is at Bayes, for a finance/quant finance related MSc, and another is at Imperial, for a more tech/cybersecurity related MSc, but offered by the Department of Physics.
As a background, I already have internships in S&T, and my BSc is from a target in STEM.
At undergrad level, I know that brand matters a lot as it is a differentiator due to lack of experience, but I was wondering about if this is similar at the MSc level.
Pros for Bayes is that it is relevant to markets, cons is that the name is not as prestigious as Imperial and my BSc uni.
Pros for Imperial is the brand name, and the degree is offered by the Department of Physics and falls under STEM. Also offers outside options/research projects which can be tailored for finance. Cons: Not directly relevant to markets.
Would appreciate any help here.
