Need opinions-How useful of MBA for an experienced immigrant to land a job?

Hey guys, may I pick your brains for some advice?I have immigrated with my family to the state, but I do not have working visa, so I will have to seek a H1B-sponsor job. I have IB experience (Equity line-M&A) for 7+ years in other countries. But I know it is very hard (almost impossible) to get a senior full-time IB job (VP) in the state, cuz of recession trend. Also, even though I would like to accept degrade (maybe the experience does not match that well in different countries), I think it is still hard (I just infer the job market situation in the state from that in my own country). So I think maybe I should go a MBA first? But I'm not sure how helpful the MBA program. Besides, I got information from this forum that Linkedin is no longer an effective way now as most of people there are unresponsive. So I'm really confused how should I get effective social as a foreigner out there. Honestly 80% Asso level+ guys in my country switch job usually by employee referral.Welcome to shed some light? Thanks in advance.
